Another successful show for Lakeland Europe highlights exciting developments in the pipeline.

Lakeland’s stand at the premier safety show in central Europe showcased some of the company’s developments shortly coming to fruition  – and also demonstrated the growing international nature of the show.

It was Lakeland’s new products on the stand that generated genuine interest amongst visitors. Of special note were the MicroMAX NS “Trine” and the ChemMAX Cool Suit Advance Plus coveralls – both products have certification imminent and both will be available soon.

Many users of chemical protective workwear have already benefited from the additional comfort offered by the ChemMAX Cool Suit Advance Plus ChemMAX 1 version and the ChemMAX 3 versions – distinguished by a striking colour combination of grey fabric with an orange back - generated strong interest.

Meanwhile consideration of how different items of PPE work effectively together is an increasing issue in the market and Lakeland have already changed way users connect gloves to sleeves with the Push-Fit Glove Connection System. The latest offering is MicroMAX NS Trine – a Type 5 & 6 coverall

featuring a rear sleeve for protection of the lanyard connected to a fall-arrest harness. This means the harness can be worn inside the suit rather than outside as is commonly the case now. The result is protection of both the coverall and the harness, lengthening the life of each whilst also improving comfort for the wearer.

Product Development is a key strategy for Lakeland globally and shows like this provide an excellent opportunity for customers to put forward their own ideas for new products. SAWO was no exception and some very constructive discussions were held with some good new ideas forthcoming.

…And with enquiries from throughout Europe and as far afield as Abu Dhabi, SAWO is clearly growing… and it proved another successful event for Lakeland.

To właśnie nowości Lakeland przyciągały największą uwagę i zainteresowanie odwiedzających. Zwłaszcza kombinezony MicroMAX NS „Trine” i ChemMAX Cool Suit Advance Plus – oba produkty są w trakcie certyfikacji i będą wkrótce dostępne.

Wielu użytkowników odzieży chemoodpornej doceniło komfort noszenia ChemMAX Cool Suit Advance Plus w wersji ChemMAX 1 a prezentowany ChemMAX 3- wyróżniający się uderzeniem kombinacji szarego koloru kombinezonu z pomarańczowymi plecami- skutecznie przyciągał uwagę gości.

Belgian Federal Police Choose Lakeland

Friday, February 26, 2016 9:15:46 AM America/New_York

The Belgian Federal Police have selected Lakeland’s innovative

MicroMAX Cool Suit Advance for their Scene Of Crime limited life coveralls.

bel_chem

Chosen for its combination of comfortable MicroMax NS fabric, with its excellent protection derived from the high quality microporous film fabric with excellent liquid repellency and viral barrier properties, along with a unique garment design featuring a breathable back panel with covering flap for additional comfort. In addition the stitched and taped seams provide not only additional strength, but also enhance protection to the CE spray- tight Type 4 level.

What is the application?

Police and forensic organisations use disposable coveralls and accessories such as overshoes for Scene of Crime (S.O.C.O) operations. This involves the initial investigation of a crime scene; analysis and recording of the scene, the search for critical evidence and finally clearance of the scene once investigations are completed.

Why Taped Seams for this application?

In scene of Crime operations the coverall serves two purposes:

1. To protect the operator from the environment. In the worst cases this might include contact with blood or other body fluids, so effective protection against blood and viral contaminants is critical.

MicroMAX fabric passes all tests in the EN 14126 bacterialogical contaminat standard in the highest class (including the critical ISO 16604 liquid contaminant test – to which some other leading fabric types is unclassified (ie, achieves less than the lowest class required).

The taped seams ensure a seal at all construction joins to prevent any contaminant passing through seam holes.

2. To protect the environment from contamination by the operator. Gathering of evidence is critical, and it is vital that the scene is not contaminated by dust or particles from the operator which might compromise any later investigation. The taped seams also negate the possible airflow through stitch holes resulting from the bellows effect – airflows that might draw contaminating particles from inside the suit to outside.

The distinctive colour scheme of the MicroMAX Cool Suit Advance of white fabric with orange seams and orange rear breathable panel overflap makes it easily identifiable – another good reason for selection for S.O.C. operations.

Why the breathable rear panel and overflap?

The rear panel in the coverall is of SMS allowing airflow at the rear of garment and enhancing breathability and comfort. Meanwhile the orange panel covering the panel is sealed at the top and sides whilst left open at the bottom which both allows the cooling airflow whilst maintaining spray protection to a Type 4 level.

A link to a Belgian news report video showing use of the garment in Brussels can be found HERE:

Scroll down to the second window to find the video. The coverall appears clearly at approximately 1 minute.

Lakeland at A+A

Monday, September 28, 2015 8:19:05 AM America/New_York

Talk to the experts on chemical protection at the world’s biggest safety show!

Covering at least nine halls in Dusseldorf’s prestigious exhibition centre A+A is the place to be for any professional involved in safety and PPE. Manufacturers, distributors and users alike flock to this show to find out what's new in the industry... and in 2015 the Lakeland stand is not to be missed by those with a stake in chemical protective clothing.

Lakeland are offering something different at this show. In our lecture theatre on the stand every day of the show we will make four presentations, each related to chemical protective clothing issues such  as understanding permeation, donning and doffing issues and how recognising Type 3 and 4 differences can result in better targeted protection.

In addition two spaces are available each day for customers to request a presentation in a specific language. Just give us two weeks notice before the show and this can be arranged. And by attending one presentation and leaving your details you can win a case of fine wine!

See below for the full program of daily presentations

New for 2015-16

Our range of chemical protection will be fully featured on our stand – including our new and unique “Push-Fit” glove connection system – a simple way to attach chemical gloves to our ChemMAX 3 coveralls with a liquid tight, Type 3 tested, seal.

Lakeland at INFOPOL 2015

Lakeland with Vandeputte at INFOPOL 2015

Infopollogo

infopol2015

In conjunction with major distributor partner Vandeputte, Lakeland  attended INFOPOL, Belgium’s biennial trade fair for police, surveillance and security services on 21st, 22nd and 23rd April.

A key part of the stand was twice-daily 15 minute presentations about Permasure, the company’s revolutionary on-line app which offers users a unique opportunity to obtain “safe-use” times for chemical selection against some 4000 chemicals.

Unlike permeation test data, Permasure uses real-time application data and calculates the time to reach the published toxicity limit for a chemical, so provides users with far more effective and comprehensive risk assessments when selecting garments for protection against hazardous chemicals, along with the ability to better manage applications and improve worker safety.

At INFOPOL, for security and especially emergency and fire services, the system provides a method of easily and rapidly obtaining simple safe-use data on site or on route to an incident… something that is almost impossible with current permeation test data.

SAWO 2014 Sucess!

Tuesday, April 22, 2014 1:25:00 PM America/New_York

SAWO 2014 SUCCESS!

Lakeland’s stand at the SAWO show in Poznan was a great success for our Central European division.

In recent years SAWO has become not only the primary showcase for the PPE industry in Poland but also for much of Central Europe. Lakeland’s stand this year introduced a number of new products to the Polish and Central European markets; of great interest was the Type 1, Gas-Tight Interceptor Chemical suits, the new Pyrolon Plus 2 FR disposable coverall and Lakeland’s prototype Arc Protective Rainwear suit – a new development for the company already selling well in North America and Asia and soon to be launched under full CE certification in Europe.

“SAWO 2014 has been a great show-piece for our new products as well as our existing ranges” commented Central European Sales Manager, Warsaw-based Konrad Mechanisz on the final day of the show, “With over 300 visitors to the stand over 3 days, it has been a little hectic at times, but very worthwhile. It’s been a great opportunity for our Polish Sales Representative Robert Wieczorek  to meet with existing and new customers in Poland and I’ve spoken with visitors from right across Central Europe… and it’s also helped along our new project to bring Lakeland products to the Scandinavian markets, with several visitors from Denmark, Sweden and Finland showing great interest in our Pyrolon FR disposables especially. All in all its been a very satisfactory and successful week"

No doubt after such a tiring week one or two Polish beers were consumed by Konrad and Robert to celebrate the end of a successful show… well desreved... and who can blame them with such excellent Polish beers to choose from..?
